Divine Nine Campus Recognition
Since 1946, the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) has been a pillar of community, service, and strength for the Black student population at UW-Madison, however they have not had a physical space to call their own. The Divine Nine Campus Recognition Fund is an opportunity to boost the experiences of students, uplift the institution as a pioneer of representation of marginalized communities, create a more inclusive environment, and impact the Madison community. By creating a garden plaza dedicated to honoring the NPHC, the UW will provide a place where underrepresented students feel important, heard, and recognized. Make a gift >>
André De Shields Fund
The Wisconsin Union Theater announced the André De Shields Fund. With a fundraising goal of $1M, this fund will subsidize, underwrite, or otherwise support the UW’s Black and Brown students, alumni, and artists, as well as artistic projects and performances created, performed, designed or produced by or for BIPOC. This fund also recognizes the significant achievements in the performing arts by UW-Madison alum André De Shields, whose journey to stardom in the Theater Arts as an African-American can serve as an example.
