- What is the Entrepreneur’s Pledge Society?
- Year after year, UW–Madison remains one of the top universities in the world. Without the generosity of Badgers like you, this wouldn’t be possible. The Entrepreneur’s Pledge Society is an opportunity for company founders or investors to make a non-binding promise to give back to UW–Madison when their business succeeds. It’s a way to integrate philanthropy into your business practice, even before you have the liquid assets to do so. By paying forward the opportunities that helped you achieve success, you can help ensure the UW’s world-class legacy for generations to come.
- How does it work?
- Complete the submission form, and we’ll contact you soon to discuss your giving goals and priorities. When the time is right — usually after your company sees steady revenue growth, when it goes public, or when you sell it — we’ll help you arrange your gift to the UW.
- What is the minimum dollar amount for a contribution?
- There is no minimum. Gifts of every size have an impact. Typically, an Entrepreneur’s Pledge Society represents a major philanthropic goal: something you want to achieve after significant professional success, which reflects your unique values.
- Where will my money go?
- It’s up to you! You can choose to support any UW fund — including scholarships, departmental annual funds, general discretionary funds, funding for specific programs and initiatives, etc. — or create a new one. We’ll work with you to identify the causes that matter most to you and guide you to the path that will best achieve your goals.
- Are there tax implications?
- There are no tax implications when you communicate your commitment by completing the Entrepreneur’s Pledge Society submission form . There may be tax considerations when you make your contribution, just as with any charitable gift. All gifts to UW–Madison are tax deductible. Please contact us if you have any further questions.
