The public Wisconsin Institute for Discovery and the private Morgridge Institute for Research will share an imposing new glass structure in the 1300 block of University Avenue. Patricia Brennan, chair of the College of Engineering Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering and Professor of Nursing, will share her vision for the new Living Environments Laboratory, which will focus on technologies that enable people with health problems to avoid institutionalization by caring for themselves at home. The lab will include experts in biomedical engineering, environmental design and computer science working together to accelerate the development and deployment of technologies that support individuals with health issues.
