Join the UW’s Kristen Malecki as she examines the role of inflammation and the gut microbiome. During her insightful presentation, professor Malecki will discuss the complex interactions between the environment and our diet, and how they can contribute to our overall health and mental well-being. She will accomplish this by focusing on two primary mechanisms — systemic inflammation and the gut microbiome. To further highlight this growing health issue, and showcase the UW’s work in this area, Malecki will present some preliminary findings happening on campus and discuss future research opportunities.
