As my parents journeyed far and long, away form their home country, I was truly inspired to grow up and make sure that I could be someone they were proud to call their daughter. Even though there were many struggles, my determination to finish high school on a good note paid off when I got my acceptance letter to my dream college, the University of Wisconsin-Madison. No words could explain the look on my parent’s faces when they found out I was attending the University of Wisconsin.
I knew that if I worked hard, my grades would allow me to receive scholarships, which would ease my parents minds and my own because I come from a big family, and several other siblings were attending college as well. The ability to receive these financial rewards allows me to flourish and gain wonderful experiences for a lifetime. None of the experiences made from wandering on State Street to hiking up Bascom Hill are possible without the generosity of so many people. I am glad to call the University of Wisconsin my home. On Wisconsin!
