The Importance of Annual Giving
As the economic landscape has shifted, your annual gifts are vital to sustain the university’s core mission – creating and sharing knowledge and providing the best educational experience possible for students. Your support helps recruit and retain inspiring educators and researchers who secure more than $1 billion each year in grants, making the UW–Madison one of the top research universities in the country.

“I Gave” Student Campaign
Student giving has been an important part of UW history since the building of Memorial Union in 1928. That tradition is carried on with the I Gave campaign, a campaign designed to provide seniors with the opportunity to make a gift to the UW unit they care most about as they graduate from the university.
The Class of 2012 has already surpassed alumni giving participation with a 15 percent participation rate. These young alumni have shown that they value their alma mater and understand the importance of giving.

Share the Wonderful
Wonderful: It sums up everything you love about the University of Wisconsin-Madison and everything you want future generations to experience. It’s where you encountered the excitement of big ideas unfolding all around you. And it’s where you made friends and memories for life.
The 2012 Share the Wonderful campaign encouraged alumni to make annual gifts that support world-class education and discoveries at UW-Madison. These gifts are already having a meaningful impact on our campus as they provide the chancellor and deans with the resources they need to improve students’ educational experience and to recruit and retain the top faculty who inspire them.
