At the University of Wisconsin-Madison, they also play a vital role in the quality of their children’s education. Through gifts to the Parents Enrichment Fund, UW-Madison parents have augmented the essential services of UW Libraries with the latest technology and aesthetic enhancements.


Parents Enrichment Fund- Libraries

Over the past 22 years, more than 125,000 parents have contributed a total of $6.8 million towards the Parents Enrichment Fund. In recent years, the funds were used to:

  • Open Book CafeExtend weekday hours at College Library.
  • Add a lecture facility in Memorial Library with wireless Internet connections.
  • Provide reserve copies of high-use textbooks.
  • Create an information commons in the School of Journalism.
  • Create attractive reading areas for three heavily used collections.
  • Add more study space and a computer lab to Steenbock Library (the Agricultural and Life Sciences library close to the Lakeshore Dormitories).
  • Provide new chairs for group-study and quiet-study areas in College Library, one of the most popular libraries.
  • Purchase several laptops for students to check-out through the library.
  • Open the Open Book CafĂ© in College Library.
