Van Hise Society

The UW Foundation recently invested in new technology in an effort to improve our platform and workflow. Due to this transition, we are not able to enroll new Society memberships at this time. We apologize for this temporary inconvenience, and we are working to restart enrollments as soon as possible.

The University of Wisconsin-Madison’s most generous lifetime donors are recognized by the Van Hise Society. This society was named in honor of the UW’s 10th president, Charles R. Van Hise who originally developed the concept of the Wisconsin Idea – knowledge created at the UW should be shared and applied beyond the borders of campus. Members of the Van Hise Society share the understanding that a great university can have a large impact on the world.

Benefits include:

  • Invitations to exclusive events in Madison and around the country
  • A sense of community among the university’s most generous and visionary friends and alumni
