Wisconsin Legacy Society

Wisconsin Legacy SocietyThe Wisconsin Legacy Society is a giving society that honors and celebrates alumni and friends who have made a commitment to support the University of Wisconsin-Madison through a planned, or deferred, gift. These future gifts contribute to the growth and success of the UW-Madison, and they will benefit future generations of UW students and faculty.

What are the benefits of membership?

Wisconsin Legacy Society members receive a certificate of membership recognizing their generous support of the UW-Madison, as well as a special Wisconsin Legacy Society picture frame, as a small token of appreciation for their gifts.

Members also receive a subscription to Wisconsin Dividends, a newsletter that explores various ways to plan an estate and includes updates on legal and tax changes that may affect planning. Members may occasionally be featured in that publication or on the UW Foundation website.

Members also will receive special invitations to UW-Madison alumni events.

How can I become a member?

As soon as you inform the UW Foundation of your plans to make a future gift to benefit the University of Wisconsin-Madison, you become a member of the Wisconsin Legacy Society. Ways to join include naming the UW Foundation in your will, establishing a charitable trust, gift annuity or pooled income fund, making a gift of insurance or any other similar deferred gift.

To ensure that records accurately reflect your intentions, please contact the Office of Gift Planning to communicate your plans.
