Ring in the season with the Concert Choir: 55 of the university’s finest vocal performers. Graduate and undergraduate students rehearse three times a week to perfect choral literature spanning five centuries and a variety of languages. The group toured Britain in 1999, has performed at American Choral Directors Association conventions, and premiered works by John Harbison and Thea Musgrave. Beverly Taylor, professor of choral conducting and director of choral activities at UW–Madison, moved from Harvard University to the UW in 1997. She was recognized by the Boston Globe as a conductor who “has the crucial gift of inspiring people to give their best and beyond.”
