The McBurney Disability Resource Center at the University of Wisconsin-Madison has been a national model for serving students with disabilities for over 35 years. Under Trueba’s leadership, the center moved into its new home in January 2011, which was designed from scratch to include innovative features to best serve the academic needs and meet the practical concerns faced by students with disabilities. The center helps the campus ensure that students with disabilities have access to the academic, recreational and technological opportunities available to all students. Trueba has spent 25 years in post-secondary services, serves on a national panel of disability experts for the Educational Testing Services, In., and speaks nationally on best practices for university disability services.
