There is no question about whether or not private support has an impact on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus – it does, and it’s big! 18 percent of the UW-Madison budget comes from gifts given by alumni, friends and parents while tuition accounts for only 15 percent.
UW students have recently formed the Student Foundation of the University of Wisconsin-Madison in order to educate students about the importance of private support and foster enthusiasm for philanthropy.
