Division of Continuing Studies
The UW-Madison Division of Continuing Studies (DCS) embodies the Wisconsin Idea – a core value of UW-Madison which for more than a century has extended the resources of the University in service to the state, nation, and the world. DCS helps further the Wisconsin Idea by offering credit and noncredit continuing education courses, fostering community outreach and public service programs, and serving as the campus “home” for nontraditional students and lifelong learners of all ages.
DCS has several goals and needs that can only be met through private contributions. Many gift and naming opportunities have been identified. For details about a specific giving opportunity, click on the links below. Your generous gift to the Division of Continuing Studies helps provide the resources necessary to keep the Wisconsin Idea alive and thriving.
- Student Opportunity Fund
A returning adult student seeking to earn or complete a college degree in midlife; a single parent struggling to balance the demands of family, work and study; a professional who needs to enhance their job skills; or someone who is curious about a topic and wants a noncredit opportunity to connect with the UW.
The Division of Continuing Studies acts as the open door through which all of these “nontraditional” students gain access to the rich resources and opportunities of their university.
Our goal is to increase the availability of scholarship funds for outstanding returning adult students, single parents, and other nontraditional students.
- Program Enrichment Fund
To amplify the Wisconsin Idea – to bring the knowledge, resources and expertise of the university to bear on societal problems – is a major priority of the university and the Division of Continuing Studies. Your gift can support a specific program that you have enjoyed in the past, or help develop new and innovative programs for the future.
