Russell N. Howes- Assistant Secretary

Russ is vice president for legal affairs at the Foundation. He holds two degrees in theater from Michigan State University as well as a JD from Wayne State University Law School. He was in private practice in the early 1980s and moved on to become the Director of Planned Giving for Western Michigan University. He has been with the University of Wisconsin Foundation since 1988 and has worked in gift planning and legal affairs since that time. He is a past chair of the National Committee on Planned Giving, now known as the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning.

Russ is a frequent speaker on gift planning and charitable legal issues both locally and around the United States.
